Becoming a PADI Instructor involves two key steps: the Instructor Development Course (IDC) and the Instructor Exam (IE)
01
PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC): The IDC is a comprehensive program that prepares you to teach and inspire new divers. It includes:
- Assistant Instructor (AI) Course: Develops your teaching skills for knowledge, confined water, and open water sessions.
- Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) Program: Expands on AI training, covering all PADI programs and teaching standards. You'll learn to lead courses, manage students, and ensure a safe, engaging learning environment.
02
PADI Instructor Exam (IE):
After the IDC, you’ll take the two-day Instructor Exam (IE), which assesses your knowledge, teaching ability, and dive skills through written tests, teaching presentations, and water sessions. Passing the IE certifies you as a PADI Instructor, ready to teach and certify divers worldwide.
